Introduction

Emerson’s International AVENTICS Pneumobile Competition is an innovation competition widely popular among prestigious European technical universities. Compressed-air powered-vehicles -- known as “pneumobiles” -- built by engineering students are competing in the annual event in Eger, Hungary. The vehicles, which are based on Emerson’s AVENTICSTM pneumatics components, are tested for endurance, manoeuvrability and speed over the three day event.

This competition has contributed to approximately 1600 engineers, over the past decade, gaining real-world experience on pneumatics engineering concepts, teamwork and project management. It further demonstrates Emerson’s long-standing commitment to STEM programs that support the future workforce, including supporting over 350 academic institutions globally. The nature of the pneumobile competition which highlights the excitement and fun of engineering also encourages younger generations to pursue roles in STEM.
